Accessibility Statement
Everyone should be able to shop for a home
Korte Homes wants this site to be usable whether you are reading it with a screen reader, driving it from a keyboard, magnifying it, or on a phone with a poor connection. Where it falls short of that, we would rather hear about it than have you give up on it.
What We Build Against
We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA. That is the standard the pages are designed and coded against, and it is what we measure a fix against when something is reported.
It is a target rather than a certificate. We are a family business, not a testing laboratory: no independent audit has been carried out on this site and there is no accessibility overlay or widget installed on it, because a widget tends to paper over the problems rather than fix them. What we have instead is a site built plainly, and a phone number that reaches somebody who can help.
What That Means on These Pages
Structure a screen reader can follow
Pages are built out of real headings, lists, tables and landmarks rather than styled boxes, so a screen reader can move through a floor plan or a specification table by heading instead of word by word.
Everything works from a keyboard
Menus, filters, the saved-homes list and the enquiry forms can all be reached and operated with Tab and Enter, and whatever holds focus is drawn with a visible outline so you never lose your place.
Photographs carry descriptions
Every photograph of a home is described in text. Images that are purely decorative are hidden from assistive technology instead of being announced, so the page does not read out furniture.
Colour is not the only signal
Text and buttons are set on colours chosen for contrast rather than for the brand alone, and nothing on the site depends on telling two colours apart — a status, a tag or an error always says what it is in words.
Motion can be switched off
If your browser or operating system is set to reduce motion, the fades and scroll animations stop and the content simply appears. The site also follows your light or dark preference.
It reflows when you zoom
Type is set in relative units and the layout is built to reflow, so magnifying the page or raising your default text size rearranges the columns rather than cutting the page off at the edge.
Where It Is Harder
Floor-plan drawings are the manufacturers’ own artwork, and a drawing is a picture of information. We cannot restructure somebody else’s drawing. What we can do is not make you read one: the bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, transport dimensions and the whole specification sheet are set as text and tables on each plan’s own page, above the drawing, so none of the numbers depend on being able to see it.
Pages that leave this site are not ours to fix. The lender applications on the financing page, the map link on our contact details and the 3D walkthroughs linked from some plans are all run by other companies to their own standards. Tell us if one of them blocks you — that part can be done over the phone.
There is no video and no audio anywhere on the site, so nothing plays sound on its own and there is nothing to caption.
If Something Is Not Reachable
Call the sales center during the hours below and say which page you were on and what happened. You do not have to explain why you are asking. The contact form works too, though it asks for a name and an email address so that somebody can write back; the phone asks for neither.
What gets reported gets measured against WCAG 2.1 AA and fixed where the fix is ours to make. Whatever cannot be fixed quickly, the same phone number still reaches somebody who can read a listing out, go through a specification, or set a time to walk one of the homes standing open in Taylor.
